To understand current research on impacts of new mobility and automated vehicles on transportation, cities, people, society, and the environment, the Mobility COE team conducted a comprehensive research synthesis based on over 400 scholarly and governmental sources. The synthesis document aims to provide researchers and policymakers with a comprehensive overview of emerging transportation technologies and new mobility services. It will synthesize existing research and identify gaps in knowledge, helping to inform future research directions and policy decisions.
The document covers a wide range of topics, including automated vehicles, connected vehicles, micromobility, ride-hailing, carsharing, demand-responsive transit, microtransit, heavy-duty applications of automated vehicles, and on-demand delivery services. It will also include case studies and best practices from around the world.
By providing a comprehensive overview of the state of the art in emerging transportation technologies and new mobility services, the document will be a valuable resource for researchers, policymakers, and other stakeholders working to address the transportation challenges of the 21st century.
